I think it was the late Bill Shankly, dave, who said "Some people believe football is a matter of life and death. Of course it isn't - it's far more important than that!"
Unfortunately some people believe him.
Good luck to Herr Tuchel. If he can get a few wins out of the ragbag collection of prima donnas that play at the highest level then good luck to him. That is assuming he can find any English players among them who are not already moaning that two matches a week for £10m+ per annum is all too much for them.
I hope he doesn't succeed. The hype when we merely participate is bad enough. If we get to the last eight it's insufferable. God knows what it would be like in the unlikely event that we actually won something.
Let's see what happens, I liked him at Chelsea, and the problem wasn't him it seemed it was within the team itself. They just were not the side they were , and players imposed on him that didn't fit in. ( play the ones that sell the most merch.) He will have more involvement with selection with the national side and could do a decent job.
