It's heading for the Xmas do season and another question has inspired me to ask.....

1) What's the worst do you ever attended?

2) What's the best?

3) What do did you dread but it turned out great?

One memorable night was the one where we were challenged to assemble a cold buffet with a Christmas theme. The biggest hit was the baby cheeses.

For myself:

1) We had to pay £10 but we had a high class buffet at a local flagship venue. Superb band, commedian etc £50 worth of drinks vouchers, a mock casino, a load of fair ground stuff....brilliant.

2) Some eejit let a veggie book the resturant but we had no clue it was a veggie resturant until we got there. Bland duff food, she ite wine. I left there starving and went to a nearby pub and had a burger!

3) They booked a church hall in the middle of nowhere, self set up bar, BBQ, ceilidh band etc. Expected it to be awful but it was brilliant, the food was out of this world, barn danced all night till we collectively fell over. The cherry on the cake was that one of the band members was my old Biology master!

One of the best springs to mind.

Fine meal and wine whilst entertained by carols from the local Scouts.  Scouts were then wheeled out and the strippers came on - whilst the port flowed. :-)

Was at Heathrow Airport where we had a 'table party' we all made a dish and had food from all over the world.

Haha, I've been to table parties.  Not usually food on it though 😂

I don't think I've ever been to one I've not enjoyed.  One was my first experience ever of being more inebriated than I wanted to be - champagne and brandy the culprit.  After that I couldn't bear even the slightest smell of brandy for years.  I think I enjoyed myself though.  😂

1995 Xmas, got a taste for Malibu and Pineapple, lovely drink, but I was Ill for over a week, never touched it again.😂😂

I've only ever been to one Christmas do.  That was when I worked for a short while as a relief van driver, delivering car parts for a Ford dealership.  It was OK but, because they booked a country pub rather than a town centre venue, everyone had to drive there, meaning that it was effectively a booze-free evening.

I've never worked anywhere else that held a Christmas do, with the exception of when I worked at a railway station (which had to be staffed for 24 hours), when the do was always held in the pub across the road from the station but I was always on duty in the station.

21:14 PMSL! reminds me of the Jamacan guy who come running in the pub all excited saying he'd got a new job. When asked about he said: "I now work for Jesus" - "The lord Jesus? " came the reply.... "No kraft Cheeses" 😁
