We need to stay near Windsor next week for one night and we wondered which would be the best place to stay?

We will be visiting Legoland, Windsor Castle and Windsor Great Park and Adventure Play.

22.43 who are you referring to? If it is me you are way off the mark. I rarely drink alcohol and if I do only in moderation. I find your insinuation offensive.

If you're looking just for somewhere to sleep, a Travelodge in either Windsor or Slough would be fine, and not much distance from the places you want to visit.

I love a Travelodge.

there's only one way to find out........

I went to Maidenhead once to try out the Elizabeth line and spent an hour wandering round the main street. Lordy, it was boring and almost empty - quite a few charity shops. But for all I know, Slough is worse (though it's closer). Windsor itself would be a nice place to stay, as Buenchico suggests.
