On the news there was some american talking head going on about the election and of course the usual LGBTABCB&QXTCMFIICI+.....etc came up and the guy said "Queer and trans" - I was horrified I thought the Q word was bad. So is it now allowed?

There are other words that certain groups like to pretend are for them alone. It's a a nonsense of course, but society seems to rumour them.

...humour...

I think it's about taking control of a word that had previously been used as a hate word.

Queer now seems to refer to spicy straights who are stepping out of their gender norms and are taking a walk on the wild side.

LGB is quite sufficient; the remainder of the word-soup is made-up nonsense and causes more divisions than it solves.

the acronym has now developed into something like a DNA strand....

woke and cant

I heard an afro caribbean leddy swearing at a countrymen in terms of knee-jare

and she turned to me and said "I can say that: you cant."

and when Glodwick burnt an Indian said " no they are not indians torching the place: they are peKlies"

and when I squealed that one is not  meant to  use that word, he replied " well I have !"

a neighbours son was a boxer and when he was mugged, he beat up the attacker and said at the end: "go home and tell mummy you have been eaten up by a poof!" - oo-er we said sir to him after that

I catch some queer looking fish at times.

I thought in the LGBTQ.... the Q has always stood for queer

lesbian, bi-sexual, trans,  queer  etc

There is some confusion as to whether it is Q for Queer or Q for Questioning......

Whichever it is, it needs to be removed from the LGB.

Nowt as queer as folk.

TORATORATORA, you were confused and horrified about the same word last year,

Tom Daley describes himself as queer. I think it's one of those words that you can use about yourself and your 'tribe' but no one else can.
