I am and I know it's the right thing but 9 months have flown by and when I thought I'd be there long term.

Abbey, yes, I know you've enjoyed some parts - but you've had quite a lot of complaints too! You had only a few months of full-time work, definitely not an ideal situation - and one that  was not going to change. It must have been months now since you thought you'd be there long term.  Be realistic, think of this new job as an opportunity for you to get out of the awful cycle you were in.

Neva Thanks hope this is the right path for me and not like certain other retail places I been in. They won't replace me until after Christmas.

Abbey, everyone will be hoping this is the 'right path' for you - but none of us can make the job a success. If you dwell on all the possible problems, you could end up with another job disaster! Do what you can to make this one work, don't keep looking back.

Question Author

I haven't got no envelopes so ill get some today and do it tomorrow

You only work two hrs. If you want one, Get an envelope after work and give it in then. You don't even need an envelope. You are not in the world of high finance. I expect verbally will be ok

You don't need an envelope! Just hand it over and explain that the last 6 months have taught you so much but now is the time to move on.

Agree with above. Doubt they will be totally surprised to see you hand your notice in anyway. (And if you really do want an envelope then I'm sure you can just ask someone in the office or reception if they have a spare one)

Question Author

Hope they do give me full time hours I haven't had my contract yet.

Sorry, is this your new job has not given you a contract yet?

Do you know how many hours your are supposed to be working or not?

Abbey, didn't you clarify your hours at the interview?

Question Author

They said full time is 40 hours

Question Author

None of the higher up managers were in when I came so have to wait until they do. There was one in but he works at the back.

If this was advertised as a full time job, unless they said differently 40 hours is what you'll be working.

Question Author

It was then I rung them for an interview.

Why do you think they might not give you full time hours?

Question Author

Some jobs have doubt it. Weather selco will give me a leaving do who knows.

Abbey, but you were interviewed for a full time job.  There's no reason that I can see for you to think it won't be full time.

Tell me the truth.  Do you really want this job?

1, did you clarify at your interview what your hours would be?

2, why should SELCO provide you with a leaving do?

3, there much have been a duty manager on, you can leave your resignation with them.

Dear abbey, you do wander off the point and prevaricate all too easily😊. Try to concentrate more on the important issues.
