Is that a slight mis-quote? Didn't Starmer mean working "for" the President, not with him?

Khandro, you missed one:

J.D. Vance, Vice President-elect of the USA, in 2016: I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical a**hole like Nixon who wouldn't be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he's America's Hitler.

And there's more on Starmer;

'A whopping 100 ministers are members of at least one or more trade union, according to the timely publishing of ministers’ interests. As of July, Starmer has 111 ministers – meaning over 90% are union members. Though not a single one is a member of the NFU…

The government has literally had to add a new subsection “Trade Union Memberships” in the register due to the overwhelming number of union members. Only a handful of Tory ministers were union members when they were in government. Guido gives you a breakdown of the most popular unions. Naturally, they’re the most militant ones:

GMB: 56

UNITE: 31

UNISON: 27

Community: 24

USDAW: 20

Talk about not biting the hand that feeds you. No wonder Labour’s handing out pay rises like candy.'

Ellipsis; Has J.D.Vance joined the British Labour Party ?

Nothing surprises me anymore.

"GMB: 56"

I wonder how many "boilermakers" there are currently sitting in the HoC?

In fact, I wonder how many there are in he GMB?

The same might be asked about "locomotive firemen" in ASLEF.

Starmer is a politician, he will do what is required of him.

i wouldn't be looking forward to it. just about everyone who works with him ends up saying what a nasty crook he is

Starmer will be lucky if Trump gives him the time of day

// Starmer will be lucky if Trump gives him the time of day //

yesterday, the BBC said this about a meeting between Trump, Starmer and Lammy in September:-

Trump, sources say, re-arranged his schedule to find time to meet Starmer and Lammy, which was seen as a “good gesture” with the soon to be president.

They're lucky then.

The Donald was just sizing them up 😄.   Step into my parlour said the spider to the fly !

Probably arranged to make them squirm and establish dominance.

Interesting that considering his ties to the UK, Trump has talked to Macron before Starmer. Oooh! a bit pointed that, n'est pas?

@15.15.Macron probably didnt send any of his activists over to the USA to pro-actively support Harris,Khandro.Starmer did.
