As far as I remember, the A Team wre imprisoned for a crime they didn't commit.

I believe the crime they were accused of was massacring a village (like Mai Lai). The crime they actually are guilty of is jailbreaking following their (wrongful) imprisonment.

I think rocksoft has it. The entire series was a crime. Contempt of child, or something similar.

You're all wrong! The A Team robbed a Bank in Hanoi (Vietnam). Hannibal said it was under orders, but they were double crossed and arrested. You see them do it in a 'flashback' episode.
