My daughter has a Nintendo 64, and she enjoys the games on there very much. However she can't save any of the games where she is up to like you can on the more modern consoles. Is there an add-on which will allow her to save the level she is on, in a particular game? There is something called an expansion pack, but I think this only gives more memory on the memory-hungry games? Can anyone help please?
Yes, the Nintendo64 has a memory card unit which slots into the back of the controller. You can pick one up for a few quid either online or in any games shop with stocks old(er) generation console peripherals.
Some games on the N64, however, have their own memory in the cartridge.
you'll find memory cards on ebay dirt cheap... make sure you get a large enough one (capacity) that will be able to save different games... some N64 games have extra levels, features, characters etc that become available with a larger memory card...
Many thanks for the feedback. I'm slightly confused though, there is something called a "Memory Expansion Pack" which fits in the top and there is also something called a memory stick and a rumble pack? So which one do I need, and how much capacity do I need? I have seen 4MB quoted on ebay.
the expantion pack is different, it goes in the top of the console under a removeable cover.. it doubles the memory in the machine, like uprgading your graphics card on your pc, it lets you run the more complicated games
