Good news it appears. No link I'm afraid, I heard this on BBC news this morning, the lowest its ever been. Could this be due to labour settling the strikes, either way very good news.

A new Broom Sweeps clean ...Well done Labour. The NHS is safe in your hands. Now that the greedy Tories have had their nose displaced before they could Privatise it.

13.01. If you bothered to read the OP, I asked if this could be down to ending the strikes. Anyhow its really the efforts of the doctors and nurses, I doubt SK put a uniform on and got cracking on one of the wards

//It would be interesting to know what % of people on the waiting list are there because they've failed to look after their basic health requirments, //

Yes it would.

It would also be interesting to know how much of the 70,000 reduction was a resul of patiens dying before receiving treatment.

Lots of things are interesting. Most interesting of all would be to discover what the new government is going to do to reform a health service which is so plainly unfit for purpose.

Alot probably died whilst waiting, that would bring it down.

Good that SK will use private, will leave more space for others.

How very knowledgeable.

It is unfit NJ, especially when it comes to having to keep treating folk who obviously keep eating to much, smoking, drinking to much, and taking drugs. Thats why i asked the previous question. No matter how much people abuse their own bodies the NHS is expected to cope. Its not about reforming the NHS time and time again, its about educating people.

The AE is still getting full of drunks and druggies night after night, and in some cases taking up beds that have been allicated for opps the next day, those opps have to be cancelled.

I beliveve you experienced a drunk sicking all over your seat the last time you attended hospital, did you not?

Winter coming...Fuel allowance gone..perfect storm brewing.

^^ Its about the hospital waiting list, not WFA.

So Labour are basically paying the private sector. I thought all the lefties were against privatisation!

Try studying the posts in full TTT, and the ins and outs of fighting the waiting lists. If you were at home now suffering with a health problem and an opperation can make all the difference you wouldn't be pulling this move apart. Now would you?

I think you're missing TTTs point, nicebloke1. I'm sure he's not against using private resources. He's just pointing out the hypocrisy.

correct NMA.

I must admit, I had a "What the actual...?" moment of utter disbelief when I read that, Clone.

^ I don't think constant misuse of capital letters and incorrect positioning of commas and full stops is a breach of AB rules, clone.

^ and 'pure stupidity' is subjective and usually doesn't lead to mod action

Gulliver, stop making accusations you have no evidence for.  It's defamatory - and that isn't acceptable.  Any further examples will be removed.

Waiting list initiatives using spare capacity in the private sector started  years ago long before the previous government. I

One thing that may affect waiting lists is a change to the way outpatient appointments are being managed.  By ignoring waiting time targets for first appointments( they can use the reason of prioritising cancer wait times ) and creating a pool system where referrals are held before appointments are sent out closer to the appointment date (the aim being reducing cancelled and wasted appointments) but also reducing the number of patients entering targeted waiting lists..... Target is decision to treat, to treatment date the waiting lists seem to contract while the numbers waiting may even increase.

Clone, I'm removing your post at 15.05.   There's little point in removing a post that transgresses Site Rules if it's repeated elsewhere.
