Good news it appears. No link I'm afraid, I heard this on BBC news this morning, the lowest its ever been. Could this be due to labour settling the strikes, either way very good news.

A new Broom Sweeps clean ...Well done Labour. The NHS is safe in your hands. Now that the greedy Tories have had their nose displaced before they could Privatise it.

No hypocrisy at all, only in your eyes TTT just pure and simple common sense.

To get back to the thread after that diversion, have you found a link yet please so we can see what these record reductions are?

Question Author

13.42 Also way of topic ??

Question Author

All in the thread if you care to look for such.

13:42 is on topic if you think about it- the removal of WFA (not in the CBA) was forecast by Labour a few years ago to lead to thousands of excess deaths, so it's likely there will be increased pressure on the NHS and waiting lists this winter from cold-related problems

16:51 have day off, you lefties would be wailing like banshees if the tories had done this. I didn't say hypocrisy but it is just that, pure and simple.

The only link in this thread doesn't mention any dramatic reduction. The lists are just back down to April 2024's levels.

14.44 TTT. Privatisation? The NHS as not become private. Its just another bill that comes into the NHS to be paid like thousands of other bills that come every week for servies rendered. Hence these bills will be for opps. Hope this helps you get your head round the obvious confusion you seem to have.

On that basis, you could argue that if every single case was referred by the NHS to private health providers it would not represent privatisation.

17:06 yes but your lot were screaming like stuck pigs over the very idea. Now it's ok is it? right oh!

For the avidance of doubt though, I welcome actions that lead to genuine reductions and improve the overall health service. There may be a cost of course- maybe this is where much of the boost announced in the budget will be spent. Maybe we should judge all aspects - waiting lists and other outcomes, and cost-  in a year or two

17.01. The tories were doing this, but the doctors strike never got sorted by the tories, hence why I asked in my OP had settling the strike made the difference in reducing the waiting list. OK

“No matter how much people abuse their own bodies the NHS is expected to cope. Its not about reforming the NHS time and time again, its about educating people.”

I don’t smoke, I don’t drink to excess, I’m not overweight. But any interaction I’ve had with the NHS has shown me that it’s a complete shambles.

As well as that, no matter how long people have been in the UK or where they are from, the NHS is expected to cope with them as well, with treatment being free (to them, anyway).

“I beliveve you experienced a drunk sicking all over your seat the last time you attended hospital, did you not?”

I did. But that doesn’t explain why I was expected to assist in checking myself out and back in again because I’d been there for four hours, especially when that farce began before the drunk arrived.

The problems you highlight are a concern and they certainly add to the problems the NHS faces.  But they are not the cause of them. It’s certainly not the fault of the staff in the front line. They do their best despite the valiant efforts of their managers and directors to make that difficult for them. The cause is the organisation itself and its funding model.

Question Author

17.11 We were screaming for the doctors strike to be sorted. OK?

Any strike will be sorted if you just give them what they want.

PS - they'll be back for more.

Your making an excuses for large numbers of people NJ who abuse the NHS for their bad habbits and lifestyle, soaking up money night after night. You have no proof of anything you are saying regarding managment making it difficult for staff.
