Good news it appears. No link I'm afraid, I heard this on BBC news this morning, the lowest its ever been. Could this be due to labour settling the strikes, either way very good news.

A new Broom Sweeps clean ...Well done Labour. The NHS is safe in your hands. Now that the greedy Tories have had their nose displaced before they could Privatise it.

OK NB - what's your solution regarding bad lifestyle choice that will have a positive impat on the NHS in the short to medium term?

impact

“Your making an excuses for large numbers of people NJ who abuse the NHS for their bad habbits and lifestyle, soaking up money night after night.”

I’m not making any excuses for anybody. People should look after themselves properly. But when an A&E dept. has somebody who has collapsed through excess alcohol brought in, what do they do? Give them a breath test and say “sorry mate, you’re over the limit. Can’t treat you”?

“You have no proof of anything you are saying regarding managment making it difficult for staff.”

There is ample anecdotal evidence available. My own example of being checked in and out to falsify the target figures is testament. There was no argument over why it was being done. It was an unnecessary procedure designed to achieve just one thing – to falsify the A&E’s achievement figures. This makes life difficult for all the staff because they will not be given the resources they need. It also makes it difficult for the staff involved in the deceit because it means cantankerous scroats like me, having been told their visit to A&E was marked off as a “Target achieved” even though I hadn’t been seen by anybody, get the hump.

The service is rife with nonsense like this.

All sounds very defamatory to me NJ?

It don't alter the fact that, obesity, alcoholism, druggies and smokers ARE dragging the NHS down on its knees, because all the above can lead to verious cancers. The Obesity problem is now costing the NHS more than the tobacco illness. Even down to bigger stronger beds, bigger stronger opperating tables, running into millions of pounds. So in my view you shouldn't be putting the blame on managment trying to tackle the growing expense.

just about everyone in hospital could be labelled as a self inflicter ultimately. The problem is with the disorganisation, nothing is efficiently done, as the judge says it's a complete shambles. No amount of money can sort that, it needs proper restructuring.

"What sould A&E do if they have drunk thats collapased through alcohol @18.08NJ. I guess they would keep you waiting 4hours."

I don't know what your point is.

The drunk played no part in me being discharged and re-admitted.

Question Author

I think you know full well what my point is, you just can't / wont accept reality.

judge, never try and debate with an idiot they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Five pages of posts and I'm not clear what your points are, nicebloke. Your "lowest its ever been" statement in the OP hasn't been substantiated so the premise of the OP may be flawed.

Let me help you NJ. if they have drunks walking through the doors day and night, and they do. Other people will have to wait. Its a bit like going to a RTA the screaming are alive the silent will get the attention first.

20.02 TTT you must come up with that one about 30 times a week. Try something else its getting boring.

I agree there are a lot of people in a and e who are self inflicted but you also get people with inflammatory/autoimmune conditions.

Question Author

The thing is like Ive said before, when one is ill its very personal to you, and you expect the care and attention when you visit the hospital.

If you have an appointment lets say with a surgeon at hospital  in the morning you expect  to go in on time and everything go swingly well.

The fact is it dont happen sometimes and you think the system is crap and you have been neglected.

What people dont think of is whats happened during the night, drunks druggies, coming through the doors at all hours. Surgeons performing opps in the night because some guys head has been bashed in by bottles or stabbed. Then you have druggies passed out, all needing beds. All this night action snowballs too delays the next morning, not to mention people who are already in hospital beds that have a bad turn in the night. To conclude, poor NJ is still sitting there 4 hours late for his appointment.

Mr Nicebloke @ 20.05. I have to agree with you .He just doesn't realize the extent of his own ignorance.
