Hope this link works, and I'm wondering if, 'go woke go broke' might not kick in.

there is perhaps a difference to be observed between what is common and what is normal.

about 20% of the uk population is aged 65 or over.... it would be absurd however to say that being over 65 was not normal

Advertising is conditioning and conditioning ultimately results in acceptance.   It surreptiously tells the observer what to think.  That's why some people regard the not so normal as normal.

"about 20% of the uk population is aged 65 or over.... it would be absurd however to say that being over 65 was not normal"

But the claim was not that mixed pairings are "normal". It was claimed they are "the norm." There is a considerable difference.

Probably not. There again the local one have got rid of service tills so I've no incentive to shop there anyway. They appear to have a commercial death wish.

It's all part of the relentless march towards inclusion and diversity - always a bit of an oxymoron to me.

Alienating large chucks of a community,  perhaps by having a reputed racist who thinks the royal family is "terribly white" for example, is hardly "inclusive".

Regarding what is 'normal': during the summer, a German sports channel used a motif for its swimming/water events of two pairs of hands each with the wrists together with the fingers spread outwards as racing swimmers do on the edge of the baths waiting for the starter's signal. (I think you may anticipate what is coming :0)

Yes, one pair of hands was white I the other was black, in other words, 50/50.

I watched the swimming and diving events and did not see a single black person, - not one; the reality being 100/0 🙄

Probably not shopping at Boots this Xmas - but I don't tend to anyway. I just use them for vitamin pills etc..

Mixed families are certainly not the norm, by the way.  Rather annoying that almost every advert seems to say that they are.  I wouldn't buy whatever is being advertised, in protest.
