I can't determine should I have the influenza vaccine today or not. As in past injections I sometimes feel poorly. Ironically with flu like symptoms. Options please.

two choices - you do or you dontIf you are old, have it

Perhaps a day of feeling poorly is better than having full- on flu.

Up to you. We had ours a few weeks ago.

I had flu once, I couldn't get out of bed to use the loo without help for a few days, took me weeks to get properly better. Lost over a stone. Hope I never get it again.

I have not had a flu jab since I stopped working over 20 years ago and have not had flu. It is a personal decision that only you can make. I did have the "required" three Covid jabs but no more.

two choices - you do or you dont

If you are old, have it

Definitely have it, a couple of days of mild discomfort against something a lot more serious.

I had flu about 45 years ago and the memory lingers.

I didn't have any reaction at all to my flu jab although I usually do. Not had any Covid jabs since the Moderna one over two years ago which (I think) gave me Long Covid.

I had the 2 jabs together a few weeks ago - felt a bit groggy for a couple of days but nothing serious.

Thank you all for your replies. I had the vaccine at 9.20 this morning.

PP @ 11.17. Peter I'm sure you will correct me if I'm wrong but I always think it should be, a choice, not two choices.  Surely a choice between A and B is a choice, not two?

ladybirder...thankyou, thankyou! I always have this argument when "two choices" is mentioned. I'm with you - it's ONE choice!

Good on you fella, I've being having the Flu jab for years (I'm asthmatic) always stood me in good stead.. I' won't be taking that Covid jab... rendered me useless last year.

When you make a choice you make one choice .

However you have two choices , to make your one choice from

LOL Ginge, did you ever manage to change any of their minds?

^no, lb, they are always right!

To us, A or B is two possibilities (or options)...but only one choice!

We're correct, aren't we?

well I got the flu vaccine a week before last Christmas and I was so ill on Christmas day - I vomited all that day and for the next 3 weeks constantly so never ever ever again for me

Those flu like symptoms occur when your body is getting ready to fight the infection. I.e it's a sign the jab is doing what it is supposed to.

What I do is take a couple of paracetamol every six hours for the 48 hours after the jab, I don't wait for the symptoms to appear.

One choice...a or b

We are in our seventies and both had 'flu and covid vaccinations in the same arm, on the same day.  We were fine afterwards.

It's your personal choice.

Personally I don't bother. I've had & survived flu (proper flu) in the past. If I get it again then I get it again. If I  survive, I survive, if I don't, well we all bow out at some point.
