Surely the tuck shop fake economist realised that would happen. Easy to predict that employers would find ways of not paying the extra ENI. Sounds like she'll end up with less dosh over all.

I wouldn't be surprised but I'm not panicking...yet

I am unsurprised.

It's in the Express so we should all definitely be worried. I know I am.

and don’t forget the 40,000 banker jobs lost in London (alone) due exclusively to Brexit.

Bankers going abroad? Gawd elp us.

We've led the world in financial crises so far thanks to them. How will we cope without them?

"....and don’t forget the 40,000 banker jobs lost in London (alone) due exclusively to Brexit."

7,000 according to The Grauniad:

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2023/jan/19/bankers-brexit-exodus-helps-drive-record-number-in-eu-paid-1m-plus#:~:text=More%20than%207%2C000%20finance%20jobs,1%2C800%20and%20Dublin%20with%201%2C200.

"More than 7,000 finance jobs have moved from London to the EU as a result of Brexit, according to a report by consultants at EY last year. They said Paris scored highest in terms of attracting jobs from London, totalling 2,800, followed by Frankfurt at about 1,800 and Dublin with 1,200."

That's less han 10% of the 75,000 that were forecast during teh referendum campaign. Alhough that article is a year old, so perhaps another 33,000 have relocated in the last year.

Same old garbage.

We've taken back control.

Fewer people have left than were predicted to leave.

It's a glorious victory.

We've owned the EUSSR and that's the main thing. chuff the economy. Some of us have got big pension funds 😆

Risk being moved.

This type of threat is fairly common, but there are costs involved in moving, and later a disadvantage to having to export or even move back. So fewer chose to do so than claim they will.

We shall have to see what actually happens.

All caused because of Brexit

gawd elp us, one half of D&D has stirred!

Gulliver, do you think that if you lived to 100 or more, you would still be banging on about Brexit?

It gets very boring when certain individuals unreasonably blame their favourite scapegoat for anything they can think of. Do they really think they persuade anyone to their warped viewpoint ?

Gulliver 10.35  Sometime ago I asked why you keep on about Brexit when you purport not to live in this country, and you said that it still had affected your life in the sunnier climate you live in.  I asked you to give at least 2 examples of how, and I am still waiting.  Perhaps you could now oblige, if not I suggest that you forget all about Brexit, because nothing aint going to change.
