Do the right thing, work hard, save for your retirement then have it taken off you to give to those who choose not to.

Question Author

summed up nicely dave.

Another day, another labour mess.

No one should be better off if not working than people who are

No one who hasn't contributed towards their old age should be better off than those who worked, contributed to even a small additional pension provision, and

What is the point of being responsible when irresponsibility is rewarded.

"The money raised in extra tax and NI from these wealthy companies ... will be invested in new homes for young people to rent or even buy."

If any money is raised by these measures ( a very big if) and if any of it is invested in homes (an even bigger if) the only people who will benefit from them will be the people arriving here in their tens of thousands (twenty thousand since the GE alone).

They are almost all "young" so perhaps that's what you mean, but that's as close as you'll get to your prediction. The taxpayer is currently paying £8m per day (£3bn per year) to keep them in hotels and since few if any of them are likely to be expelled we might as well find somewhere permanent for them to live and free up the hotels for people who want to holiday or get married in them.

Young people born and brought up here should not get their hopes up.

Walmart has a 10% minority interest in Asda, I'm not aware of any other companies they have their fingers in

These changes will hardly tickle their cats' whiskers
