A very clever puzzle with an amusing endgame.

An easy start but the difficulty soon was stepped up. Some nice pieces of logic saved much unnecessary computation.

Thanks, Nipper. I enjoyed the challenge.

Yes, this was very neat, wasn't it? I didn't make many inroads into it with pencil and paper, so resorted to the usual toolkit, but that was sufficient - no trips to B&Q this time! Many thanks, Nipper.

I did enjoy this although I had all my values sorted and the thematic excuse in place with about 20 entries still left to solve which then became a bit of slog - although it was very pleasing to see everything fall into place. I did need a little polite help from the other side to realise that my googled list of (primitive) triples was not the whole story. I think I may have nodded off in that bit of my maths lessons.

Finally stumbled over the finishing line. Not too difficult, but probably not concentrating enough. I constantly am amazed how puzzles like this can be constructed.
Thanks, Nipper

Delightful.

Managed it mostly with pen and paper (and my phone's calculator) which is always satisfying.

Thanks, Nipper.

I too was able to complete the inner grid using logic as opposed to computation, for the most part anyway. However, the perimeter is another matter, which I'm still wondering about.

Further to my previous post: I finally got my pdm, and so underdtood the relevance of the message to the theme! Good stuff Nipper: I really enjoyed this puzzle.

Thanks: BMACMac
