Is there a law which prevents me from videoing my child playing team sports, without prior permission from any one?

If some Father sees you pointing your camera at his young daughter in her PE gear, you may end up with your vid cam shoved where the sun don't shine.

My 14 year old, when he was 9, 10 and 11 played rugby we never got any videos of his team because, the trainers said it was illegal.
Now he plays football but no one videos at all.( I think everyone in Sheffield believes that it is illegal )
His older brother has videos of when he played to look back on. It seems a shame that my younger son does noy have any to look back on when he is older.
But if it is not illegal as Grunty and others say hoe can i prove this to doubters?
