I think they'd have a case, they all had to stay an unplanned night in a hotel and lost a day of their holiday. If Ryan air win then surely all the poassengers will also win

The underlying problem though is that travel is too cheap.  The scum can now afford it and wreck it for all the others.

No, the passengers will claim from .Ryanair, hence Ryanair suing the passenger to cover those costs.

As you say I doubt he has the money anyway.

I thought they could only claim the overnight cost, not compensation for the days holiday lost, nor compensation for the inconvienience.

The problem with that article is that it doesn't detail the "disruption" so it's difficult to judge if the action taken was necessary.

 

(Presumably the court ought to see all evidence and come to a conclusion.)

It must have been pretty bad if they had to divert but surely there was some indication before takeoff.

I used to use Ryanair a fair bit until I realised air travel doesn't have to be like that.

Too much stress at the gate and attitude ripping out of herders as they pack in their victims.

Flights having to divert for various reasons (including disruptive passengers) is not new.  Was "stranded" in a German airport for 10 hours because my flight was "diverted".  Oh dear, what a shame, never mind.  These things happen.

A flight diverted by weather is understandable and acceptable.  A flight diverted because some drunken scumbag starts fighting and abusing airline staff is not.

That story does not give enough information as to why the plane was diverted, did the passenger get drunk on board (why didn't staff stop serving him) was he drunk before he got on board (why didn't the staff stop him boarding).

But to you he is workshy scum based on nothing at all!

They fly every day I trust they would not have inconvenienced the whole plane full if they didn't think it was necessary.
