Man Utd Socks Circa 1970

I had a full George Best kit in 1970, the iconic red kit with red socks- not the black socks with red & white trim, I hasten to add.

My only 'bugbear' if you like, was the fact that United had a white foot/sock section, and I think these were hard to come by through usual channels.

Could they be purchased; did any facs buy them Lyle this. Look at the photos of the time to see a scan.

1970 were two years before I introduced onself to the planet Rod... but obviously Seven (Yes... seven)  years later watched some team called Manchester United with my Dad.... since learned about Newton Heath etc... anyway your question seem to trail off toward the end.
