Yes, many of the fires have been set intentionally.

Sad, evil individuals.

Yes many do get their kicks out of starting fires and saw on the news that they are sure some of them were started deliberately.  I remember years ago when I was a fireman and we had just put out a fire on one mountain and we could see another fire being lit on the oposite mountain by someone on a motorbike lighting them in different places.  By the time us and the police had got there it was well alight and had to spend many hours putting it out and the person was gone.

No. The fires are due to climate change...I hear it on B B C news every day

A lot may be due to the dangerous combination of BBQs & alcoholic beverages in a hot, dry, windy climate.

But those who suffer (& they have my sympathy) always need someone to blame.

Twisted firestarter.

"No. The fires are due to climate change...I hear it on B B C news every day"

That's good enough for me!  🤣

//No. The fires are due to climate change...I hear it on B B C news every day//

Nonsense. US news reports the fires were eihter arson or potentially a rekindling of an earlier fire started by firewoks. Vomined tiwht he Snant Ana winds, which are nothing to do ith climate change having started thousands of years ago....

And this is what the BBC has on it's pages about the cause (nothing to do with the climate)

What caused the fires?

Detectives continue to investigate the possible causes.
Lightning - the most common source of fires in the US - has been ruled out as a cause for the Palisades and Eaton fires.

There has been no official indication so far that arson or utility lines - the next two biggest culprits in sparking fires - caused any of the conflagrations.

However, in the case of the Eaton fire, legal cases have been filed against the electrical company, Southern California Edison Company (SCE), claiming there is evidence that the blaze - one of the largest - was ignited due to negligence of the firm's overhead wires.

SCE has vowed to "review the complaint when it is received", pointing out that "the cause of the fire continues to be under investigation".

A spokeswoman added that the company "remains committed" to supporting communities affected by the fires.

On Friday, SCE said authorities were investigating whether its infrastructure was involved in the ignition of the separate Hurst fire.

The BBC or other climate change disciples have never, as far as I know, claimed that the fires started because of climate change, but climate change is usually referred to as a major factor in the way the fires take hold and spread. But if the fires never started they wouldn't spread so we need an honest assessment as to why they are starting.

Just because there is a fire due to climate issues, doesn't mean it doesn't give idiots the opportunity to cover their own firestarting activities. (However it does highlight the absolute disaster their authorities have created by not preparing for the problem and ensuring sufficient water at the hydrants etc..)

Climate change is an embedded term in BBC coverage of anything and can pop up in the most unexpected of places.

seems to me when apportioning blame for any scenario, the words "Brexit" and "Climate Change" are pretty much interchangeable.
