'I'd Know If It Was Not You.'

Earlier today, I went to collect some laundry from the baskets. Walking downstairs, with an arm ful of Mr T's clothes, I thought, I'd recognise that smell anywhere.

Suddenly, into my head popped a woman's lovely, sad voice saying, 'I'd know if it was not you.'

Now, I can't get rid of the voice, neither can I grasp where I've heard that before.

Anyone recognise that quote?

Explanation

In East of Eden, Adam says, “I'd know if it was not you” in response to someone saying they didn't love their father. Adam is trying to understand why the person has faith in their father if they didn't love him.

I open OH wardrobe and his comes gently wafting out. I don't think it's aftershave, and it's definitely not a bad smell, it's just him.

It was meant nicely Vagus.  This was over 40 years ago and he still reacts if mutual friends mention anything not good happening in my life. Things like being suspected of having lung cancer and worse.
