There was talk recently that Palestinians in Gaza could move, or be moved, to Indonesia.  This was the first the Indonesians had heard of it.

Now Trump is suggesting that millions of Palestinians are moved to Jordan and Egypt.

I'm reminded of a plan which came to nothing in the 1930s.  Madagascar was to be the new home of people who were deemed less than human by the racists in power at the time.

Isn't it sad that further abuse of victims, then and now, is seen as the answer to a political problem?

Yes, Palestinians were forced to move from their land in 1948, but do not forget that somewhere in the region of 3/4 of a million Jews were expelled from Arab countries as a direct consequence of foundation of the Israeli state.

For instance, 120,000 were forced to leave Iraq - many of them have held distinguished positions in public life, after suffering brutal persecution, including the public hanging of Jews.

The same could be said for Egyptian Jews who had a significant presence in Egypt for 2  1/2 millennia, 80,000 had their property confiscated & were driven out of the country after 1950 on government orders.

Without even starting on the pogroms, the Jews know quite a lot about displacement.
