I have watched the first two episodes of ITV's new Police drama Patience and I am enjoying it. But can someone tell me what is the puzzle the Police files and and star is playing with / solving?

No, its like a metal puzzle - she has in Episode 1, and she times herself to complete it.. looks like a larget version of those puzzles you sometimes get in a christmas cracker..

I recorded the last episode but it cut off just before the end, as Patience was about to open the box her mother had given her.  Was it revealed what was inside?

It's actually on C4. I watched the first episode and was intrigued...I might binge watch the rest.

I haven't seen this, but it's just a British version of the excellent French series "Astrid: Murder in Paris", on More4.

@brainiac it as bu don;t want to post a spoiler here.

You can sitll watch it on C4 online, or scroll down to hte end of the rceap here:

Thanks, chelle.  Looks like it's been left open (as so often with TV series) for another run.  Thought Ella Maisy Purvis was very good in this - she's autistic herself and didn't overdo any idiosyncrasies the character might have had, which would have proved extremely tiresome after a while.   She's only 21!

I wonder why most of it (the interiors)were shot in Belgium; would have thought that would make it more expensive to produce.  Must have been a co-production.

We watched I episode but didn't bother with anymore.

It's the 9 dots puzzle. You have to join nine dots with four or fewer lines.

Sorry I misread. I thought you said a mental puzzle!

Apparently ASTRID is returning this week. Is it any good, as I've never watched it.

A:MIP is an excellent series.

We found Patience poor in comparison but are going to give it another go and are determined to stop holding the original up as a comparison the episode unfolds.

^Agree...Astrid is excellent viewing. We've watched the previous series too.

brainiac, yes I understand it is co-prodiced, and the director is Belgian. I thought she as very good in the role too.

I will give Astrid a watch as well, a few people, as well as everyone on here lol,  have told me it's better.. so kind of glad I watched Patience first.

Astrid came first - forrin alert ! - if it is Belgian they have Procureurs du Roy ( yup  - procureurs of the Roy) and in france - Juges d'instruction - judges that direct the investigation.

They then  direct the prosecution ( en France in the  name of the ray-poob-leek and in Belgium in the name of the Roy ( albert I think)

and they havent quite got the hang of how British er " justice " works

I watch it with a Belgian and you know, as a drama it is  OK

I will give Astrid a watch as well, a few people, as well as everyone on here lol,  have told me it's better.

I think it is set up quite well - drama about an autistic girl  with added bodies and nurder.
