it's coming for everyone i'm afraid, no matter how much protest

Atheist...I laugh...but there was once a homeless man in there. I got loudly told off when I told him off.

The doors have since been fitted with locks.

It would be nice of some of those who have negative opinions about dealing with refuse collection could come up with some useful ideas about how it could be improved. I suggested Amazon box collection, and I also recommend that people really make a small effort to sort their rubbish as recommended. It makes life easier for the council and the collectors.

One good reason Amazon won't want to take back your cardboard is people would abuse the scheme and try sending nonsense Amazon stuff back.

We've had Ocado delivery now and again, they charge 10p per bag, but will give it back if you return the last bags. One driver complained because I sent back the outer wrap from toilet rolls and one or two other things, I said 'you brought them you can take them back, I'm not expecting to get 10p for them'.

How does auto correct manage to put nonsense instead of non?

The big delivery businesses are making millions, but not investing in the country's wellbeing. They should be made to clean up their own mess. There's a veg delivery firm who do welcome empty boxes, which they re-use (I can't remember their name, but they specialise in odd veg - very good servicel saves lugging heavy veg home, and encourages us to try new stuff, e.g. kohl rabi, and saves us the effort of trying to be creative.)

They are sponging at the expense of the local authorities, and therefore our council tax.

I  suspect there are rules about only one bin which will not be collected if overflowing. So you burn or flytip the excess, preferably on the council steps.

This is yet another example of how councils just bully citizens, not help them. Like all government. The shitebags in my area are now demanding we book in advance to bring stuff to the tip too. They all need making an example of.

OG. Do you really believe in your heart of hearts that councils deliberately try to bully people? Why on earth should they?

Ego boost probably.

It ain't about belief, it's about experiencing the results of what they force on others.

OG, we've had to book for the public tip since Covid.  And they charge to take some stuff which just encourages fly-tipping.

Even up here on Royal Deeside people are just fly-tipping nowadays. The cops arent interested, the council doesnt give a damn.I get my bins emptied once a month and have to pay the council £50 a year to get my garden waste bin emptied.Maybe give it a year before i start dumping my rubbish at the side of the roads.Everybody else gets off with it.

This seems to be a good Idea.

I think the scheme's aimed at vendors. Sounds a good idea.

There goes the River Avon, to be chokker-blocked with floating black bin-bags. Chuck them off the Clifton bridge and watch them drop down.....

I use a regular food box delivery service, and not only do they take back all boxes/insulation/etc they also will take plastics which local councils proscribe.

Abel & Cole is the Company if you're interested.

Local Righty Council here stopped taking glass years ago, so I have a 1/3 mile trudge to the nearest bottle bank.

Up here in Scotland the company contracted to carry out the SNP/Greens non-starter,ill thought out glass recycling scheme are suing the Scottish government for £167 million. If the SNP eejits, the Green eejits had to pay out this sum from their own pockets fair enough, but its us mug Scottish tax-payers who have to stump up for these bunch of aerosols. And you wonder why i despise these nationalists?

Booking for the top has certainly shortened my sojourns there. You drive in, directly where you want to go, empty the car and leave. Before depending on time of day you could wait in the queue for an hour or more

I can't use the local tip - I don't drive and they don't allow walk-ins.

We have no glass collection so it all goes in landfill bin.
