Good evening, all!

Another rubbish week for me, with just TWO out of seven in the grown-ups' quiz:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c20gkmmmp85o

and TWO out of five in the kids' one:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/articles/cldyny3ypnko

YOU can do a LOT better than that though, can't you?

Hi, Sam!

(I was beginning to wonder where everyone had got to tonight!)

Well done on (just) beating me this week!

I think that I'm well, thank you, but I'll have to ask my consultant when he phones me next Tuesday 😉

I hope that you're well and that you'll have a good week!

Question Author

Well done, Sandy!

You're in the lead at the moment!

😊

Well done, Scorpiojo - especially with that impressive 6/7!

Our new leader!

Decent scores, Clover - and FAR better than me this week!

Well done!

Well I did learn some stuff this week and was on a roll with the Jnr one... but the wheels fell off the bus.

Main: 5/7

Question Author

Well done, Arky!

You can keep Clover company this week!

we are all watching the rugby !

Question Author

^^^ Rugby???

Isn't that some sort of strange ritual performed by men with odd-shaped balls?

No idea

5/7 & 4/5 (stupid islands)

Question Author

^^^ I got that one wrong too, Lie-in King!
(Mind you, I got nearly all of the questions wrong this week, anyway!)

Well done (as usual!).

Joint top with Scorpiojo!

Good Evening, Chris!

A mixed bag for me tonight

6/7, 2/5

I read news articles throughout each week trying to spot the ones that may pop up in these quizzes, but never seem to find any about pandas or their names!

I have been wrestling with my new printer which has taken up most of my day today. I had to give up on the old one after giving everything a try, but it feels good to have finally goy this one working. It prints lovely photos of my new Granddaughter which I am thrilled about.

I hope you receive positive news from your consultant on Tuesday. Wishing you and the kitties a wonderful week ahead :-)

2 and 4

Question Author

Well done with that impressive 6/7, Karamia!

Congratulations too on managing to get your new printer set up!
(It's a task that I dread!)

The consultant probably won't tell me anything that the cancer specialist nurse told me in phone call a week or two ago anyway but it will be interesting to see what he can fit into the 90 seconds or so that he typically allocates to me every 6 months!

I hope that you'll have a great week!

Chris - we are soulmates yet again!  We must be destined for each other eventually, surely! :)

Been a weird day; neighbour has reported me to police for loud shutting of doors (they  said 'forget about it and live your life) which is nice, but I could have done without it.  Then the good bit was ariving at the hospital to  jubilant doctor beaming and saying that they had finally isolated and identified the exact bacterium  affecting OH - started on precise antibiotics an hour later......... so I am in hopes of getting him home next week.

To end with - I was rushing to do a nice flower arrangement in case he came home over the weekend..... and managed to snip the end of my ring finger off with a recalcitrant rose stem.  So I have a huge white sausage of a l. finger.  :(

Question Author

Thanks for keeping me company, Jourdain2!

I'm glad that there's now a good chance of your OH coming home soon.

I hope that your finger is better soon too!

It seems that the police around your way get called to much the same sort of silly things as they do around here.  A few months ago, I had a visit from two lady constables because someone had phoned them about a 'suspicious' red wire in the bushes at the front of my house.  I spent a pleasant ten minutes telling them about amateur radio and explaining that it's actually a shortwave radio antenna!

I get a bit down when Wales lose, that's why my answers are so rubbish  , maybe next will be better  😟
