Remembering today my musical heroes from (what seems like) another life.  Buddy Holly (22), Richie Valens (17) and The Big Bopper (28) died this day in 1959 along with the pilot of the plane Roger Paterson.  Still occasionally listen to their music.

Great music Maggie.

Wish Rap would die. ....Should have been called Crap.

Waylon Jennings had the last seat on the plane, but gave it up to J P Richardson(Big Bopper) beacause he was suffering from the flu.  Waylon went on to become a big Country Music star wo was a member of the Highwayman, with Johnny Cash, Kris Krostoffersen and Willie Nelson. As gulliver says, great music.

Eddie Cochran was my favorite Rock and Roller, with Gene Vincent not far behind. Having older brothers had its advantages.

I loved the Big Boppa - a little bit different 😊

The first LP I bought was "The Chirping Crickets". We really only listen to 60s/70s music nowadays, so rarely a day with either Buddy Holly or a slightly more modern version of one of his songs (Beatles/Hollies/Shadows etc)
