I just been to the hairdrssers and had compliments on my hair but the hairdresser was misribble and made no conversation. I would go to that hairdresser again just not sure what I want her. What do I say if they try and give me her?

I'd take her silence as a positive advantage in using her. Personally I hate it when barbers want a chat - if they try I give monosyllabic answers and sit there with my eyes closed and they soon get the message.

Jimmy Carr once said when asked how he'd like his haircut, "in silence".

Sometimes I'm quite happy for them not to chat. I once had a hairdresser who hailed from a  war torn country and he insisted on stopping for minutes at a time with a sharp blade in his hand close to my face telling me about the terrible deeds in his country and how the Uk/EU governments had blood on their hands and how would I feel. I felt very uncomfortable throughout. I found a different barber next time

agreed dd, it's a boon when they dont talk!

Much rather have a stylist who concentrates on her work rather than one who wants to know one's life history in an hour or less 😊  Replying to your question ...  just say ... I want an appointment with Jill, Jo or whoever you want to do your hair.

Myself and two Brothers used to go to te same Barbers, different times obviously... and telling me stuff I didn't know.

Sat there smirking on the inside... thinking No he didn't

When my wife makes an appointment she makes it with the particular hairdresser she chooses, not a general appointment with whomever she is given. Suggest you do the same.

I use to book my appointment with same hairdresser

No it's not normal but nothing is with you! Drama is your way!!

Did you try to make conversation? You could have updated her on your outfits or the guy at the dogs home, how 'bojolious' day went or an update on dating app succeses/sleepover guy... or tell her about your friend that's being off with you. Maybe she was unwell or had lost a loved one or had other problems troubling her.

Abbey, is this you trying the new place for the first time? If so, you won't know if the other hairdressers will do as good a job - but maybe they'll be chattier! Next time you make an appointment, just say you'd be happy to try B rather than A, and add that you're just getting used to the place.

Question Author

Of course I will go same place but not request a certain hairdresser

Your question was 'What do I say if they try and give me her?', and that's what I answered!

Question Author

Oh sorry

Abbey, it really isn't that difficult to deal with something like this. We can't feed you lines for what you should say when A, B or C happens!

The truth is the exact opposite of what you posted, neveracrossword.

Truth?

On these threads Doug?

Oh, the irony😏

Yes I think I have been there...   her name is Miss Ribble isn't it?
