I have been playing for years on my ipad without this.  Anyone know how to get rid of this please?

I'd guess that the Wail has recognised that it's likely to be households, rather than individuals, who subscribe to their website.  (i.e. it's likely that a husband and wife would have only one subscription, rather than two).  At the same time though, they've recognised that different members of a household will want to play the online puzzles.  They've therefore made it possible for up to three people to have their own 'mini accounts' (purely for playing puzzles) within the principal one.

If you're the only person using the account, simply select 'Player 1' every time.
