Automated call thanking me for buying rail ticket to St Pancras, option to cancel leads to someone asking for bank details to cancel transaction, told them where they could stick it..... Checked and it is a new scam, can be any train company,   also advised that there are take guards on trains checking tickets and demanding instant payments for wrong tickets...

Thanks, hadn't heard about this one

Seems rather blatant.

Well it's a new dust jacket on an old scam really.

Bring back the pillory.

Thanks.

I assume you meant Fake guards....although I'm not sure how plausible that is ( how do they spot wrong tickets, how do they collect the money?)

I had one yesterday, advising me that 'protection for my landline which I cancelled 3 years ago was still being paid' and he needed to refund me.

He went very quiet when I said that was clever when I didn't have a landline think you have come unstuck this time.
