Has anyone seen this? At nearly 4 hours including adverts and intermission it was a long haul but it didn't feel like it at the time. Yet looking back I wonder why? Perhaps it was because of the wonderful acting by, in particular, Adrien Brody. There were also important socio-political messages. But somehow for me it didn't really cohere.

Being nosey I checked this programme out on Wiki.

It sounds like a good story but they could have condensed it a bit.

Four hour!? 😵😵

I suppose it's no longer than an opera with an intermission. I also can't think what could have been cut out. I am just feeling a little disappointed/dissatisfied but can't put my finger on it.

I have been watching disaster videos from a YouTube channel called Fascinating Horror.  It makes it feel that it isn't safe to leave the house.😂

I haven't seen it but I'm pleased to have the heads up not to bother!

Maydup - don't just take my word on it. Hopefully others will have seen it and respond.

I found it an epic film in every way. A beautifully constructed plot with distinct 'acts' as the story unfolded. Magnificent soundtrack and cinematography, so definitely needs to be seen on the big screen. It certainly didn't feel like nearly four hours. I agree about Adrien Brody; an absolute travesty if he doesn't win Oscar for best actor. For those who haven't seen it, there's a scene about fifteen minutes into the film which caused quite a stir among some of the older viewers at my matinee performance.🫣

Ludocruz - I agree with your analysis. I am glad that I went to see it and appreciate the subtleties. I just felt that there were a few loose threads left at the end, especially regarding the father and son.

Ludocruz - I assume you are referring to an early scene on arrival to the USA? 🤭

@Toorak

Yes, it was certainly unexpected. I'm not a prude but it seemed a bit lingering and gratuitous.🫦

...and a bit unexpectedly graphic 😳
