My daughter is in Oz and she wants to hire a car again but has lost her Photo Card Licence. However she does have the green paper Counterpart Driving Licence. Could she use this maybe with her passport to hire a car?
As her trip is in a week or two its not really realistic to apply for a duplicate and expect it in the time frame.

Any advice appreciated. Kids eh!!!

She may or may not be able to hire a car (it depends how knowledgeable about UK licences or fussy about checking them properly the hire company is) but she will not be able to drive it legally if she manages to. She does not have a valid driving licence, since it consists of two parts.

The offence here in the UK would be not producing a licence rather than driving without one.

If she's in Oz long-term she should really have obtained a local licence by now.

Thanks dzug. I got a call from her today and she said she had telephoned DVLA and they said they will send one to her UK address and then we can send it on. She reckons they would fast track it. Hope she's right.
