The Martin Lewis money show. I dont watch it, but caught part of it last night. How did I catch part of it? I heard this hysterical screaming and shouting, people standing up waving their arms about with joy. I thought its the wrong night for strictly. It appeared someone had followed his advice a claimed a £1000 back off whatever.

Has Martin Lewis now just become a showman for tv?

Talking about money, budgets, bills, debt can be extremely dull.

His style attracts the target audience so he's doing a good job

He's doing pretty well himself, reportedly worth £123 million. He makes large donations to charity

Not taking or trying to take his skill away Margo Tester he's very clever indeed, but adopting this hysterical audience madness spoils the real format of the show.

Although the information is useful, I agree that the presentation is pretty childish and I don't watch for that reason.

It's better than when he (and sidekick) used to do those prefilmed sketches dressed up as Laurel & Hardy or Ebeneezer Scrooge. I don't like the 'wave your wallets' bit either. I prefer the gentler style of Money Box. But he has some excellent guests and his dad-joke, wacky style helps draw in the viewers. He certainly knows his stuff and I always follow his weekly newsletter/emails.

I prefer Radio 4 Moneybox with Paul Lewis.

Without some of the fun and gimmicks an hour would be too long.

I think a 30 minute show would be better. He could afford to be more reserved and focus on information but could still make it entertaining without the shouting and silly 'wave your wallets' bits.

I don't mind what he does as long as he keeps doing what he does.
I switched my savings to over 5% interest ISAs late last year thanks to him; I fixed my utlility tariff last month ahead of the predicted rise; I have diary notes to renew car insurances 26 days before they are due; and last night I learned not to accept the £30 AI add on when I renew my Microsoft 365.
They only wave the wallets once as a warm up. I can cope with that!

That was just an example of some of the things done on the show that don't appeal to me maydup but on the whole I think he does a great job of informing us. As I said I follow his weekly newsletters and try to watch his show every week ( but would prefer 30 mins, but clearly the 60 min version is popular). He and ITV know what the big audience wants and will keep the format unless viewing figures fall.

I doubt the producers are influenced by what a few posters say on here.

He talks too fast for me, I can't take it all in..
