Why are they so so expensive when they've cut the middle man out?

They set their stores out very much the same, also when they first opened their stores a few moons ago they opened many of their stores next too, or very near too M&S stores.

Now they are very well established they open them eveywhere and anywhere.

In fact I remember M&S objecting to their stores being opened nextdoor to them, because people were walking into Primark thinking that they had entered M&S.

Needless to say M&S got no where with their objections.

Aldi voted best supermarket four years on the run. M&S, Sainsburys, Waitrose all closing stores. Aldi opening more stores. The proof is there. :0)

//people were walking into Primark thinking that they had entered M&S.//

Bet it wasn't long before those people realised their mistake and walked out again.

All taste tests on good food on tv have shown Aldi hits thd spot everytime. Strange that. :0)

Proof that Aldi sells cheaply produced food to people who don't mind what they're eating.

I'm not sure why this thread has become a bit of an advert for Aldi. There's a place for Aldi, Lidl, booths, tesco,  M&S etc, corner shops and farm shops.

Dunno about cheaply produced but the food I get from Aldi is as good as any I've had from our older established supermarkets in the past.

I've not used M&S for food (their local store is inconveniently located for me) but I used to shop at Tesco & Morrisons regularly.

Let's all go to Waitrose (if you can't afford Fortnum & Mason that is). 🤣

Only thing I miss at Aldi is an in-store bakery & (maybe) the dessert selection could be improved.

Question Author

Very strange indeed that all supermarkets are now trying to copy Aldi. ,:0) :0)

Aldi and lidl have their place...as do M and S and Waitrose. I read an article yesterday by a food writer in the Guardian praising certain food items from the German competitors...including their Greek yogurt, and West Country butter. Both of which I buy. And why should I pay 30% more for double cream when they sell it for just 1.19? But, I'm also happy to pay more for veg and meat from the 'posh' shops because the quality and variety is better.

I say, shop around if you can and buy what suits your taste and lifestyle.

12.28. Eh up. Not sure why this thread has become a bit of an advert for Aldi. In your eyes only.

Says the poster that never starts a thread, just dives in on other peoples to pick flies.

Just so you know thats how threads progress, and its about the retail industry. Ok

Bit of an obsession there lovey. Chill.
