Water Rates Increasing

Got a letter today from NW Water saying my water rates will increase by £17 pm. With the latest increase in utility rates, the planned increase in State Pension will easily disappear into the pockets of greedy shareholders at these companies. Where am I expected to find the money for these increases? Not that anyone cares, especially the bigots and duffers in this government.

We are being milked like cows in a stall. If we don't rise up we stay down.

10CS - are you on a water meter? £17pm increase is more than I pay in total. (Severn Trent)

Mine are going up by £20pm. Metered and no change in usage. United Utilities, Greater Manchester. Seems excessive, but what can we do.

My water charges are included in my Council Tax.  I think it is about £40 a month.

The money is needed to clean up the UK's rivers.

Thanks for the replies folks. Sorry I'm days late with this. We filled out the on-line questionaire for water metering and it concluded we would be no better off. Nothing changes!
