Yesterday buying my eggs, lift the lid to make sure none are broke, yuk they were pure white and soon rejected them. Why do i do that, and do you.

No, I wouldn't. I think that the colour is no indicator of anything wrong with the eggs; I believe that the colour is influenced by the food the hens are fed.

I like to see just brown eggs sitting in my egg rack on the kitchen top.

I don't mind either.  From the internet:

For some unknown reason, I prefer brown eggs but would take white ones if none other available.  Don't fancy blue eggs though.🥚

I confirm theres nothing wrong with them, but i still reject them.??

I eat the bit that's inside the shell so the colour of the shell doesn't bother me.

I got blue eggs as a substitute in a recent online order. They were no different...the shells were just a pale blue.

nicebloke, be glad you're not in the US where egg prices have skyrocketed due to avian flu. You'll grab any you can get no matter the shell colour...if the price is right.

Why would I buy eggs (other than the chocolate type, of course)?

I think that I've only ever bought eggs once or twice in my life and definitely not within the past 40 years.

It appears birdflu is on the up and up again, and the price of eggs will follow. I'm sure I'm not the only one who for some mad reason rejects white eggs. Sometime back I saw a report that most white eggs go to the catering trade and manufacturers of egg based products. I guess i wont be rejecting them should eggs go short. :0)

I actually love getting blue and white eggs and will actively seek them out.

The first bit, yes.

The second bit, no, and I'm unsure why anyone would: phobias aside.

Blue eggs, of course, come from hens with blue feathers.

I remember when suppliers couldn't get enough white eggs, there was a huge demand due to Delia Smith featuring them on her book cover in 1999.
