13.09. One Trump is enough to be going on with. :0(

Im with Untitled on this one.Isnt the Pope just another paedophile apologist?

Someone once said that religion was the only sort of institution that is capable of dressing up evil as holy and virtuous. I don't think the Pope is evil, but I do think that he has caused much suffering to millions of people.

Someone else alllegedy once said, 'Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.'

Good grief ! what times we live in. It's open season on Jews & Catholics, but say (or now even think) something critical of a Muslim & it's 'hate speech'.

Everyone seems to have popped it at some point, at least so far.

Khandro, criticising or disliking the Pope is not attacking Catholics. How many time do I have to say this sort of thing? Don't you get it? If not, can you explain why hating a person does entails hating millions of other people?

"every one has popped it at one time or another"..not the Popes, unless it was with wee boys.

Atheist:  //Khandro, criticising or disliking the Pope is not attacking Catholics.!!

Go tell those millions of devout Catholics you don't hate that "he has caused much suffering to millions of people",

and see how well you are received.

Re: OP.   It is probable that he will not survive double pneumonia, given his age and previous condition.

OH has only just survived it (he's 91) but he was slim and fit (walking the dog at least 1 1/2 miles twice a day every day).  The Pope was not as physically fit as that.

As an addendum - I am appalled by Untitled's comment about a lonely death.  I'm not R.C. but  for millions of people the Pope is dearly loved.

-- answer removed --

there is a world of difference between catholics and the church as an organization.

for all his faults napoleon knew what to do with popes

1545 what a disgusting thing to say

"I'm not R.C. but  for millions of people the Pope is dearly loved."

if you were to make up an institution designed to rape, exploit, and torture vulnerable people the world over on an industrial scale then it would look indistinguishable from the catholic church. by the standards of that organisation jimmy saville was the best catholic who ever lived.

"Why do you hope that?"

because i think the catholic church is a sadistic and irredeemably evil organisation and i sincerely wish suffering on the people who control it.

Untitled, I fear for you, you are sick and should seek help.

I don't understand what wishing suffering on anyone achieves.  It certainly doesn't validate the moral high ground you're claiming for yourself, untitled.

I think he believes in the teachings of his church.

If you live in hope you'll not die in despair.

well naomi i would say there is a massive moral difference between writing nasty words and doing nasty things on a global scale. i do the former, the church does the latter

AB is no stranger to posts hoping that convicted felons will be raped or murdered in prison or locked up for life.

Untitled, neither is to be commended.
