1. Submarine

3. Tractor
4. Ford?
5. Amphibian?
6. Parachute (anagram of preach at U)
These questions are all taken from the Farleigh Hospice annual quiz, which carries a 75 prize. The organisers are aware that this form of cheating is going on. Please bear this in mind when supplying answers.
Strong words, D.

If this is cheating, so is a high percentage of this site, with answers requested and supplied for many prize-offering quizzes and crosswords.

Is it cheating to use anything (dictionary, reference book, Internet) apart from one's own brain? Or to ask a partner or friend for their help?

In line with most of this site's members, I suspect, I'm happy to help others and test my own skills and knowledge at the same time. If the organizers published details of the quiz on AB, I'm sure they'd be overwhelmed with requests and welcome cash - surely the name of the game.

Cheers

Thank you, Otleybard and Momalito, for your time and answers.

Yes, I'm trying to solve a quiz with a cash prize, but what are the odds of me actually winning?! I never win anything and it's for a good cause.

I'm sorry if it offends anyone by asking for help, but as Otleybard said, the majority of this site is probably used to solve crosswords and quizzes with a cash prize.

Also, I've seen another person asking a question from this same quiz and I don't think she had any problems.

Once again, thanks again, Otleybard and Momalito!
But there's a big difference between using a dictionary, reference book or the internet to look up answers compared to simply asking other people to do it for you.

I've got most of the other answers myself, I just needed help with these last few.

If you've seen the question sheet, you'll know that there are 75 questions, so the above 10 are really just a drop in the ocean and there's really no need to trouble yourself with this any further. As far as I'm concerned, people are here to help me, and I them, and I'm not going to get all het up about whether I'm helping them with a prize quiz or not.

Dictionaries, encyclopedias and the internet have all helped me to some extent, but if people can help me out, then obviosuly, I'm going to ask. That's what this site is for.

I'm sure the Farleigh Hospice (one of our most frequented charities) aren't going to string me up for asking for a bit of help and you shouldn't either.
