It's worth noting that those dosages are a great deal higher than the amounts of iodine typically found in tablets purchased in pharmacies, etc. For example, these tablets each contain 0.15 mg of iodine

so you'd need 867 of them to reach the recommended dose of 130mg. As that's somewhat impractical, iodine that's used to counter the effects of radiation on the thyroid gland is usually given in liquid form.
Sandy - and what do you think the world be like when you emerge? Likely no power or fuel or transport. Rioting in the streets with people fighting for food, which will be past its date and/or contaminated with radio-active fallout. You're better being at ground-zero and instantly evaporated - you won't even know you're dead.
