Wordplay suggests tressLes but the spelling is trestles.

I set here is also  word tressles

tressels is in Chambers.

Yes tressles. ( There are several variations but this one fits).

Yes to Straunge

Anagram sun great.

Means foreigner I think

9d ends in mulL, therefore the supporting beams end in els

Okay...whichever fits...tressels or tressles.

I think straunge is middle English, hence the 'once'

Therefore Straunge and Tressels are correct

I think it's 'tressels' a less common spelling of trestles
