Aligning A Powerpoint Slide

Usually, when I insert a slide into Powerpint, it allows me to centre it by showing me a red horizontal and a red vertical line. When I centre them, the slide is dead centre.

For some reason, the lines have vanished, is there some way to get them back?

Thanks Chris

Before, a red line would appear when the slide was centralised, and disappear when it was moved out of line.

I have clicked on View and Guides, and it gives me white horizontal and vertical lines which don't move when I move the slide.

How can I get my red lines back please?

Ah, if I align with the small white circles, my slide is in place - I guess this is how it works.

Not sure where my red lines have gone though?

I have just had my Microsoft Office 16 reinstalled by a tekkie - would that some have 'updated' the way it works?

Sorry, Andy.  Although I've got a certificate to say that I'm proficient in Powerpoint (courtesy of some free training provided by a former employer), I've not actually used it for a couple of decades or so.  So I'm far from being an expert here!
