It's almost as if there is fear of a growth inhibiting budget about to kick in! Who'd have thunk it eh?

I wondered how long it would take before Tory Central Office posted this story on AB – reliably consistent.

Are you saying it isnt tgrue then Hymie?

I am afraid you are totally wrong, growth has dropped.

Normal, up in Dec down in Jan.

I don’t recall Tory Central Office posting news stories on AB, each month that the economy shrank during their 14 years in power – strange that.

Well I am not a Tory so not applicable to me, but may I ask why you didnt post on it over the last 14years if you are so bothered about it?  Its easy enough.

Hark the Global economist speaks 🙄

How much has the economy shrunk?

^^^ A tiny amount, but, and it's an important but, the shrinkage was due to manufacturing and construction, two of the powerhouses.

Certainly wasn't the case in Dec2022/Jan2023 or Dec2023/Jan  2024.

To be fair, one month's figures  on their own are  not enough to draw any conclusions.

Hymie, you may find thischart useful as it shows there has been pretty consistent growth, with very few fall, over many decades, Tory or Labour when quarterly figures are used. So that maybe why you didn;t hear the last Tory government dwelling on reductions/negative growth- because there weren't many occurences- only during Covid.

The only significant negative UK growth has been in Covid year and in the 2008 banking crash.

Nicebloke from accounts....

.......and its not even April yet!!

Ryzen - that is going to be an absolute car crash.

There is one poster on this board who, with astonishing naivety, said at the time that he thought people were "making a fuss" about the ENI massacre. Funnily enough he has never, never, responded since to his naivety.

...and then the latest NHS fag packet folly, with thousands of golden handshakes will turn it into a plane crash!!
