To be fair, one month's figures on their own are not enough to draw any conclusions.
Hymie, you may find thischart useful as it shows there has been pretty consistent growth, with very few fall, over many decades, Tory or Labour when quarterly figures are used. So that maybe why you didn;t hear the last Tory government dwelling on reductions/negative growth- because there weren't many occurences- only during Covid.
The only significant negative UK growth has been in Covid year and in the 2008 banking crash.
