You may think it daft, I thought within the context it was a light-hearted joke  and it wasn't about ''taking" but offering. 

In Hinduism, fasting is commonly practiced on New Moon days and during festivals such as Shivratri, Saraswati Puja, Janmashtami, & more.

If I was to suggest offering to assuage a Hindu's hunger afterwards a beef sandwich, would it warrant that posts removal from AnswerBank, or indeed offering the same pork scratchings to a Jew after Yom Kippur?

I'm not aware of what prompted this question, but it's true in general. Christianity and many other religions can be lampooned and mocked till the cows come home and nobody cares much, except perhaps the targets of the mockery.

It isn't allowed with Islam, and it's reasonable to ask why that is.

It's not just here, it's everywhere, even the media are  cautious when discussing Islam compared to other religions,  There have been instances where criticism of Islam has led to violent reactions from extremist factions, so they can't be mocked but it's OK riducile other faiths.
