I'm reminded of a journey on Eurostar when a mother was reading a story to her young daughter.  I don't know if Mum was a professional actress or not but she certainly should have been with the way that she imbued every character in the book with their own unique personality.  As she read, the whole carriage went quiet.  Then, when she got to the end of the story, everyone applauded!
