Well we have no sunshine this morning, in fact it is  pretty dark & drizzly. Managed yesterday tho to do a couple more  of the jobs on my list - this one was to go thru the cabinet in lounge & sort thru what's in it, &get rid of what we don't want. We did just one cupboard of it but honestly some of the stuff in there lol...... god knows why we keep half this stuff. Usually because there's nothing wrong with it, but we know we will never use it lol. But we were fairly brutal so was good!

Lots of work today, but don't think will be planning much for dinner as MrSmow has had really bad throat all weekend & only managed to eat soft Weetabix, & then some soup(not together lol). He says it's still really sore so looks like more soup!

Whats everyone's Monday plans then?x

Good Morning Smow and those who follow ... wish I could send  you down some of our beautiful sunshine 😎 I had  a jewellery clear out the other day and waiting to see how much it is worth 💰 No specific plans other than give away some more of my precious blood, x

Question Author

Good morning Hazlinny, ooh remind me again where you have got this sunshine!
Sounds  like you're a blood donor lol.  I used to do it a lot tho I haven't done it for a while.

South-easr Scotland, Smow.  Google Sunny Dunny.   No, blood is for med purposes at Surgery!

Question Author

Oops, my mistake!  There is one nurse at our local doctors that is useless at taking bloods(well from me she is anyway!). Every time I go there she says ooh I can't seem to try a vein, let's try this one instead...... about 6 attempts later she finally succeeds but my arm is all bruised the nxt day!

Been there!!  GP had to be called in once to extract the red stuff.

Me too! We now have a phlebotomist in the surgery who's very good at it. Also I have learned over the years which vein is most likely to oblige.

Good morning Smow. Dull and overcast here in the Midlands, but at least it's not raining. Spent yesterday going through old photographs. My friend, who is writing her memoires, asked me if I had photographs from a particular holiday we went on. I didn't but spent the whole day remembering other things with fondness. Was a good day.

Going shopping today to replenish basics. Sorry to hear Mr Smow has got a sore throat, I suffered from lots of them when I was a child. I think I caught all sorts of things but my throat and tonsils acted as a barrier. I never got any of the childrenhood diseases. like measles, mumps etc. Have you tried honey and lemon in warm water, I used to find it very soothing?

Question Author

Hi Calda, you could well be right about the sore throats - I used to get sore throats all the time when younger but also never got measles, mumps etc..... the only thing I ever got was chickenpox lol.

Yes I agree about the honey & lemon, that's what I take. Will see if I can get him to try some lol.

sunnyish here in berks. i read the weather's going to improve a bit this week

Morning smow and all, gargling with soluble Aspirin is really effective for curing sore throats.

Question Author

Morning bednobs/Naomi : ) Yes our forecast for here looked quite good for this week so hopefully this cloud will clear.

Ive always gargled with warm salt water - tastes absolutely vile tho! lol. Will make up some of the soluble aspirin as have some here, get him to take that. V V rare for him to even get a sore throat - have never known anyone else like him  who just doesn't get sick or catch anything!

Good morning Smow and everyone. Hope Mr Smow feels better soon, honey and lemon drinks also helped me.

We were hoping the scaffolding would be taken down today but no sign of them yet. At a tangent, I can remember a group called  the Scaffold, one member was Paul McCartney's  brother if I remember correctly. Sorry showing my age there.

We are expecting a food delivery soon, nothing else planned for the day

Have a happy day everyone

Hi Rosetta, hope you are both well. I remember a neighbour once telling me that her husband used to work for a scaffolding company and what they charged! I was stunned. Hope yours was a good deal.

WE paid the roofer for an all inclusive price so I would guess, now that he has finished the work, that he wants it down asap so he doesn't get charged extra
