It seems a risky business taking your used carrier bag to the shops now. Its was the 3rd time in a month yesterday I was asked if the bag I had was a new one. So I said yet again NO can't you see its all creased from being in my pocket.

You now have the self service staff walking around with them in their hand, the security for carrier bags is on par with a beef steak. :0))

The staff target the individual because they are powerless to stop the organised gangs, so they have to show that they're doing their job by stopping you, the inncocent shopper.

In one supermarket near here recently, 4 guys walked in, each carrying 2 huge hold alls. They went to the wines and spirits section and filled the bags with as much as they could carry, then walked towards the main exit, where they were stopped by security. They said there was 4 of them and only one of him, so what was he going to do about it? He let them pass, armed with their goodies. Things like this happen all the time and it's tough going for the staff, not just security.

12.58 thankfully that's stopped in all supermarkets now. Alcampo used to insist you put your rucksack In a heat sealed plastic bag. Some places still have lockers in place to save you carry yr stuff around.

I just show them my shopping and of course the receipt. First time I said in a bored voice - "which item do you think I have NOT paid for?"

and then realised they had a job to do

May biggest shock was a  completely unknown shelf stacker saying " you are the  doctor who put up a  drip on my friends baby when no one else in the Hospital cd" - buttocks clenched, I dont even say the big big D ( damn). phew and I thought....
