//Almost 42,000 asylum seekers are waiting for an appeal hearing after the Home Office rejected their initial claims, according to analysis of official figures.

The Refugee Council said the number is a five-fold increase in two years and the government risks simply moving the asylum crisis from one part of the system to another, with almost 40,000 migrants still housed in hotels.//

A ludicrous situation.  Is it time to say no appeals?  If you're refused then off you go?

No appeals and if one is allowed, no public money (so no legal aid) to fund the lefty HR Lawyers (2Tiers mates).

If Starmer is struggling to know how to do it he should ask DJT next time he is over for lunch.

Can't they appeal from France ?

Should be able to re-reject 42,000 by the end of today using tech. Once set up it could probably done in a minute.

Surely all the Syrian refugees who arrived in the UK and other parts of Europe will now be returning to Syria now Assad is gone? The Syrian refugees were the majority of refugees at one time,i wonder how many will be returning to Syria? All of them or none?

They arrive without documents and probably lie about where they came from - getting anyone to "take them back" is probably difficult if not impossible. The vast majority will be rubber stamped. Not another single boat should be allowed to land.

There's only one possible answer to this problem: chuck 'em all out.

They don't need to apply from there, they can clain asylum in France, its a safe country

as part of a peace treaty Ukraine should take them as they will need all the support and labourers to rebuild their country and help repopulate

Smart idea johnny 🙂

They could apply for asylum in France, but clearly aren't keen on that. (Who can blame them ?) So they can appeal from there and have their rejection confirmed.

^^^ I think a big gripe is that the UK does not provide (enough) facilities abroad to apply for asylum here.
