There was an independent one a few years ago undercutting everyone by about 20p a litre and it continued for a few weeks. Must be making a loss... does it even cover the fuel duty?

Its called a loss leader, they buy petrol and when thy pay they buy other things

I think it's a mistake - premium diesel 48p a litre cheaper than standard?  It's only a small petrol station, he's not going to make up his losses selling a packet of fags and chewing gum

It looks to me like they're out of the two cheap fuels. Allprices nowadays staert with a 1 and end with a 9 - they've just zeroed the intermediate digits till they restock and know the price.

I know about loss leaders webbo, but it's not normally the case that you choose to make a loss on the item that brings in 95% of your revenue.
