I am thinking of getting sinus surgery using private medical insurance - which I'l have to cancel soon as its too expensive!
However Im wary about having surgery at a private hospital as based on my previous experiences the staff dont seem as competent as in the nhs.
Some examples:
Private nurses have always struggled to take my blood -and have had to ask for help whereas in the nhs they have always got it straight away.
I have also noticed in private hospitals a lack of communication and mistakes. One I was down as having general surgery when it was only under local.
I full trust the consultant who does the sinus surgery (he works both private and in nhs). However its the anesthesiologist and the assistants I wonder if they might make mistakes etc. For some reason i trust the NHS more but would probably have to wait years.
what do you think?

Private health care is all very well if you want to jump waiting lists but I have always thought that if something is serious, I would rather be in the NHS because they have more experience of dealing with certain problems.
