Comic Relief today but not a red nose to be seen around the shops here.  At one time red noses were everywhere, their wearers enthusiastically shaking their collection boxes, but that doesn't seem to be happening now.  Why do you think that might be?

Prudie, we record everything we want to watch so we skip through the adverts.  Our oldster can't control the functions on the tv very well so watches live tv during the day.  Bombarded with funeral plans and direct cremations (these ads are so blerdy cheery) , save the donkeys/dogs/children/tigers/pangolin. Give give give. It's incessant and insiduous.

No headline news about monies reached, no mention on BBC.  It used to be splashed all over the papers next day

Do you think these ads really have any effect - I have become quite inured to them to the point of being hostile to any appeal seen on TV.

My oldster used to get distressed by some of them.
