Morning everyone. After picking up the GMEB thread quite a while ago I thought I'd ask - what would help to make it more popular, or get more people to join in?? It's often that I start the morning post & maybe just one person comments, maybe two. On a really good day we could get 6 or 7. Is the trick for me to ask random questions on what colour top I should wear to the pub this evening, as I see that these kind of posts can easily get 300 comments! Please enlighten me guys. As I feel quite disheartened in this at the moment.......
Anyway, for those that are about it's a damp morning - with little sign of any sun but hey ho! Today I will be trying, and hopefully succeeding, in getting into my laptop. I haven't used it for a couple of years, but was brand new when I got it. I've powered it up late lastnight and left it to charge, it's obv asking for password which I haven't a clue....... so I'll start that game this morning,
Hope that you all have a great day everyone xx

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Smow, you shouldn't feel responsible for the GMEB thread. You're doing a great job but it isn't 'yours' and you aren't obliged to entertain people. Anyone can start the GMEB thread any day so you've no need to feel bad. Threads do sometimes run into a lot of posts but if you really look you'll often find that it's actually only two or three people chatting so threads aren't always as busy as they might appear. Try not to let it get you down. It supposed to be a bit of light-hearted fun.
Morning Barry & O.G - hope ur both ok this morning? I was just about to Google where/when all the 'Karen' jokes started. You know when you answer a question say on FB, or any public forum, and they decide your answer is over sensible/boring etc, then you get a ton of answers saying ' Oh stop being a Karen', or 'Don't do a Karen'........... it's even said on TV ... the reason I'm curious, obviously, is because I'm a Karen, and every time MrSmow hears this it amuses him greatly lol.
Good morning Smow and everyone, I think you're doing a grand job, WBM and Emmie will be pleased you took over the mantle.
I used to be a regular poster with my set routine and popping in for a bit whilst getting some breakfast... these days my sleeping habbits have become more erratic so don't always come on, and sometimes don't see the thread.. maybe many look in but very little to post and as Barry says maybe not up for a chat.
Very cloudy and wet oop here in West Yorkshire (The rain hammered it down last night) and looks like more to come.
Good luck with the lap-top 😏 sorry being there and that's just web-sites i've not ventured into for a while.
Have a lovely day folks whetever she may bring you.
Hello Smow.Sorry you were not well the last few days. Although I open up the computer every day. I don't always post as I feel I am too late. Some mornings I don't get up until about 10am and I feel I am too late for early birds. Perhaps retitle it " ---day Chatter" then it could go all day?
I have recently decided to sort my photograph albums out and intend to spend today resticking the corners on. It brought back some lovely memories of people and places. Perhaps when one is feeling down picking up an album could be the answer.
Hi Smow, I have to admit I am normally too late these days, but it's good that you try. But I don't go on the threads you mention either, not good for my blood pressure.
Loads to do at the moment, but no inclination to do it, might leave it til tomorrow, the joy of being retired I guess, every day is a weekend.
Older son got caught up in the Heathrow chaos on friday but he is finally ensconsed waiting for his outbound flight. Nothing much happening here today, tomorrow car is in for its MOT so fingers crossed it gets through ok.
You are doing a splendid job Smow with this thread. Maybe it will take a bit of time for folks to get into the routine of posting regularly. Hope you are feeling a bit better with the cough/cold btw.
Have a happy day everyone
Hello Smow: Flor one reason or another, I don't post regularly though pop in from time to tme. I have admired the way you have plodded on despite few replies to your posts - I reckon quite a number of people read them but just don't bother to reply, even to say "Good Morning". Chipchopper (before you), I think, probably found the same! Calda has suggested having a "Chatter Day" - an idea? Good Afternoon and Night Owls threads didn't last long so it would be a gamble. You recently asked about selling bits and pieces (TV ad - was it Vintage) - I did this recently and was pleasantly surprised with their offer (if you don't want to accept offer, they will return your box) - excellent company to deal with, good communication all the way and free postage for items sent.
Good morning all, hope you are feeling much better this morning Smow. Weather here sunny and bright and we are stuck at home waiting for a chair delivery from M&S, Just hope we get a chair this time and not a table!!.
Agree with all the above, you are doing a great job and the thread stays nice and friendly these days. I did try posting later yesterday when I got back hoping it may jog some people into posting.
Good morning Rosetta - ohhhh I had a feeling that son might have got caught up, what a nightmare for him! It affected so many didn't it.(and Thanku for the kind words x)
Morning Haz - yes that's why I didn't post 'early birds' but just the days name, but didn't make much difference, but I will have another re-think lol. As for Vintage - that's good to hear! I sell loads on Vinted, but that's more general stuff, I believe Vintage is more quality items. Did u feel that their offer was fair??
